Authority Having Jurisdiction

In most countries, construction is regulated by building and electrical codes that are strictly enforced by the authorities. In some countries this is referred to as the 'AHJ' (Authority Having Jurisdiction). in our industry these codes often deal with such particulars as: the spacing between electrical and communications wires, insulation, protection requirements for exposed wire pairs, grounding and bonding, fire safety requirements and EMC.
